City Twin aims to conform with WCAG 2.1 level AA and the relevant requirements of EN 301 549. When the platform is delivered to a public institution, the accessibility requirements applicable to that institution are agreed with it, by contract.
Compliance status
Partially compliant. We have applied a number of measures (contrast, labels, navigation, alternative text, semantic structure), but one central component, the interactive 3D map (WebGL), remains difficult to make fully accessible with assistive technologies. For the essential content of the map we provide text alternatives: the generated reports and the data lists.
Content that is not accessible or has alternatives
- The WebGL map: panning, zooming and selecting elements are not fully operable by keyboard alone or with a screen reader. Alternative: the generated reports and the data lists present the information as text.
- The dynamic visualisations (the animated traffic flow, the clock and the indicators in the Command Centre) are decorative or informative.
- The analysis themes (imperviousness, planting priority, shortage of charging stations, solar potential, surface temperature, land sealing, built volume): the legend and the value for each neighbourhood are available as text when the neighbourhood is selected. A complete text table for each active theme is in progress.
- The comparison of two themes with a slider dragged across the map does not yet have a text equivalent; the information can be obtained by reading the two themes separately.
- Presentation mode has no text equivalent; its content can be found in the usual thematic views.
- Text alternatives for the rest of the map content are being completed.
What we have done
- Colour contrast monitored for text and controls.
- Labels and titles on buttons and panels.
- Semantic page structure (headings, lists, tables).
- Alternative text for informative icons.
- Reports and data lists as text, as an alternative to the visual content of the map.
Report a problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, write to us at [email protected]. We will reply and try to provide the information in an accessible form. If you are not satisfied with the reply, you may contact the monitoring authority, which in Romania is the Autoritatea pentru Digitalizarea României (ADR, the Romanian Digitalisation Authority).
